Figurative Sculpture - "Disappearing Identity"

Nan Phillips Realistic Figurative Sculpture

This sculpture portrays the struggle between woman's self-identity and her obligations - the disappearance of self into the self-less duties and obligations of life.

Her back and feet are sculpted in fine detail, while her face, left arm and hand are held firmly by the permanence of rock, while her right arm and hand struggle to push against the inevitable.

She remains faceless.

Disappearing Identity is a 1/3 scale sculpture measuring approximately 28" x 10" x 8", and was sculpted in clay from a live model.

This Sculpture was cast in amber-colored resin and weighs approximately 26 lbs.

This piece has also been cast in pigmented HydroCal.

Open edition.  Amber resin casting is available.  Other sculpture will be cast upon request.
