"Disappearing Identity"

The sculpture of this woman is highly detailed from the feet, up through her muscled back and arms.  Her face and hands - her "identity" - are trapped in rock.  Her right arm pushes mightily against the rock, trying to free herself.

Life is a struggle between our personal identity and sense of self, and the parts of ourselves that are trapped and held by our external lives.

Other casts of this sculpture in other material may be ordered.
