Passover is a Jewish holiday that usually falls in April and is celebrated with a ritual meal called a Seder, meaning Order.
A Seder Plate is a plate with five or six indentations used to display the symbolic foods which have a special significance in a Passover Seder - the retelling of the story of the Exodus from Egypt.
A Matzah or Matzo Plate is a serving plate which holds the squares of matzah eaten during the Passover Seder.
Chanukah, also spelled Hanukkah, is a Festival that usually falls in December. A Chanukah Menorah is a nine-branched candelabrum which holds candles, or sometimes oil, lit each night during the eight-day holiday to commemorate the special oil for the Ner Tamid - the Eternal Flame - that was found after the Roman invasion of the Temple. One day's worth of oil was found, but it lasted for eight days, long enough to process more oil to keep the flame alight.
Any of these ritual objects make excellent wedding or new home gifts and can be custom ordered.
