"Breath of Life by Nan Phillips - tack-fused glass sculpture in a custom steel base
18”h x 20.5”w x 9”d
21 lbs
“Breath of Life” by Nan Phillips is a beautiful, shimmering, table-top or mantlepiece glass sculpture measuring 18” high x 10.5” wide x 9” deep, weighing 21 lbs, including the steel base created by steel sculptor Toby Chapman. “Breath of Life” is a textural and dimensional piece of artwork, with 2 layers of sheet glass on the back, a pulled cane of swirled-colored glass as the center leaf vein, silver dichroic glass as the leaf veins, and bits of dichroic glass frit among the multiple layers of multi-hued green and clear frit (chopped glass) that creates the beautiful texture of the leaf. A hanging wire has been fused between the two layers of glass backing so the leaf may be hung on a wall.
